In my Account Summary/What Do I Owe? I have Refunds available: Refund Check OverPay. How do I obtain my refund?

If you go to Solar, click Account Information/Payment, then Direct Deposit, you can enter your bank account number and all refunds will be directly deposited into your account. It might be too late for this refund, which will be mailed to you in the form of a check, but it’s good for future refunds.

How long does the check usually take? Thanks for the reply!

It says on the Bursar page that refunds are printed weekly. Here’s the link:

[Class Withdrawals/Refunds, Tuition and Fee Adjustments (Tuition and Fee Liability) - Bursar/Student Accounts - Stony Brook University](http://www.stonybrook.edu/bursar/withdrawals.shtml#requests)

And you’re welcome!

Once again thanks for your reply. It’s now been over 4 weeks since the Overpay Refund Check was posted on my Solar. Nothing has arrived. Should I be worried?

You can always shoot them an email to find out or stop by Bursar to ask. My son gets his refunds directly deposited, but last week he had a hold on Solar. Turns out he owed Stony Brook some money as a result of the tuition increase. I’m not sure if that would affect your refund in anyway. By the way, I would think they would mail the refund to your home address. Did you check with family?

Whenever I have a refund check I just pick it up at the Bursar. If you wait for them to mail it, it tends to take a while. I wouldn’t think you should be worried just yet; try stopping by and asking about it. And if they did mail it, it would’ve gone to your home address.
