Overpopulation

Exactly. Somebody in need of money may get sterilized for the quick buck and then want children later on. Then they regret it and try to sue the government (although they stand no chance of winning) and lawsuits go back and forth causing our judicial system to be backed up even further.

It was fourth on my list and followed by a ? mark, so I only put it in there as a possible area of intrigue. And sterile people could always adopt from unsterilized ones (killing 2 birds w/ one stone eh?), thus reducing overpopulation and orphan counts as well!

Anywho, on the abortion thing, I've not seen statistics detailing regularity of long term regret (not including post-abortion syndrome, which merely manifests the severing of emotional attachment), and I can't quite see why any would have long term regret (except in certain special cases), especially considering the 1st trimester limit. Couldn't they just fertilize more eggs?

It would be curious to compare long term abortion regret with long term failure to perform abortion regret. It seems that so many tend to wish they had not had kids, most of the time. No stats to back this up, so don't put weight in it, I simply would consider the analysis to be interesting.

It'd be great to adopt that Nicaraguan kid who really needs you, but then you'd know that it wasn't your genes that he made captain of the football team.. There's just something to having your own kid that completely overtakes your desire to adopt someone else.

Hell, if you don't want to change diapers, there are plenty of homeless people that would love to be adopted.

someone in my AP history class said that you should make everyone stop having children for a decade or 15 years. thus, birth rate is zero for the world (or at least major countries) and death rate will be high.

then, resume people from having children. another girl disproved him by saying when people would be allowed to have children again, it would be a baby boom x 100.

then he said that all "poor" people should start working and stop being on welfare. he said poor people have more children and that doesn't only affect overpopulation, but increases the amount of people that live below the poverty line. either they work, or they get deported.

harsh solutions..

Population and technology increases at an exponential rate, but the land available doesn't. If global warming is as bad as Al Gore projects, we've got a really serious problem on our hands. Battlefield 2142 looks closer and closer to reality.

Just wondering? Why is it doing the switching posts thing? It's starting to get really...

^^ lol at reference to BF2142

I want to see the day when humankind branches out into space and colonizes the planets.

A step in the right direction would be reducing poverty

How? By eliminating poor ppl?

Poverty is a result of overpopulation, just think about it. We really can't give out that many jobs and higher cost of living due to too many people just exaggerates this problem.

Who seriously cares about overpopulation?

Go have sex, doesn't affect me...

Hell, everyone here will eventually die.

^ speaking of death

what will happen when there's not enough room in the world to bury people? what will we do with the passed-away (i use this euphemism a lot) bodies?

..ughh, this post is in response to artofmind_21 (i think i put the underscore in the wrong spot whenever i mentioned his name before..)

Tell me, are you paying for your gas?

Are you stuck in traffic everyday?

I don't pay for my gas, cause I don't drive.

Grades > overpopulation concept

I can ride my bike with no handlebars.
