Overrated/Underrated in College Application Process

What do you guys think?

Me:

Overrated: test scores and GPA, most of the time its a range so theres not that much of a difference between 2250 and 2400....and 3.9 and 4.0 (atleast not the difference between accept and reject). Also, a lot of people have high test scores and GPA when applying to a top college.

Underrated: Essays and Interviews because they really show your personality and they bring out things that are not otherwise shown in the application process

Test scores and GPA are always more important than Essays and Interviews. Essay won’t even matter if your scores aren’t good enough

There will be strong debates for both sides. I think I agree with HiPeople for the most part. I think scores are stupid overrated. GPA is really important I think so not that overrated. Essays and interviews are a tad underrated in comparison. However, Yakyu makes a good point that you have to have some semblance of a good score to begin with though I disagree that they are “always” more important than essays and interviews.
