Overrun with book clutter

@Poochie21 : Thanks for making me aware of this organization. Never heard of it before.

Great ideaā€¦. alas, the dropoff locations s are only in eastern half of US

I buy from Better World Books all the time! Iā€™m another with thousands of books and bookshelves everywhere. They make me happy (and occasionally overwhelmed). I keep only about half of what I read and also purge about once a year but there are still a lot. My to be read books are actually the most out of control since I donā€™t shelve books until Iā€™ve read them. As far as purging I love used book sales and go whenever I can and there are always tons of used book dealers there. No idea if they make a living but Iā€™ve seen no sign that there isnā€™t a robust resale market. That said no one wants mildewed books, books with writing in them, old travel guides or things like old textbooks or computer books. Those should tossed or recycled.

And check with your library book sale folks. There are several libraries around here that wonā€™t take hard bound books. Too heavy to handle and donā€™t really fetch a premium $$.

Iā€™m liking those little free librariesā€¦for things I have just finished and are somewhat current. I wonā€™t put my old stuff there.
