"Oversight in our evaluation"

Today i received an email stating:

"Congratulations on your offer of admission to Penn State University Park. We have uncovered an oversight in our evaluation of your credentials. Your offer of admission is being changed to fall 2010 at University Park. You will be able to see the revised offer on your MyPennState page by week’s end. The revised offer will arrive via mail shortly thereafter.

Congratulations! We look forward to seeing you next fall."

This seemed somewhat strange to me because I had received a letter three days prior saying that i got into the summer semester at university park. Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?

Did you apply for summer or fall admission?

They admit you to summer if you didn’t make the cut for fall.

Apparently they made a mistake and now your in for fall. Though some people go for summer of their own choice as well…

congrats…what were your stats?

Well i applied for the fall admissions but checked the box that said i’d be willing to attend in the summer. I applied for business and my stats were…
Wgpa 3.95
Cr 640
Math 730
Writing 640

With those stats, seems like you do belong in Fall and that it was truely an oversight. Summer is really supposed to be for students with stats not as strong as yours as I understand it.

I agree with what jcrowe said. I don’t know why you weren’t accepted into fall in the first place you have good stats

as they said it was an “oversight”. congrats!
