I was recently accepted to Rice. I just have 2 questions:
1. When is the so-called "Owl Weekend" held?
2. Do ED applicants get invited, or is it just Regular Decision people, since ED applicants already have confirmed they're going to Rice and thus they don't need to be "convinced" to go to the school during Owl Weekend?

Owl Weekend is held on the 7, 14, and 21 of April. It's not really "Owl Weekend" this year, but rather a series of Owl Days.

Your post confuses me. It says you were recently accepted into Rice, but you want to know if ED people are going? Didn't you have to be ED to be accepted into Rice?

Anyways, I am RD, and I received a letter inviting me to Owl Days, but I haven't been officially accepted yet. And I didn't apply ED, so I can't answer that question.

I applied and was accepted ED, and I haven't received an invitation either. But isn't February the month for ED Owls? I know that I could have done an overnight stay, but I couldn't since my schedule was kind of crazy. Maybe the Owl Days are just for RD while the overnight stays in February were just for ED applicants. Just a thought.

Sorry about the confusion. I just wanted to know if Owl Weekend was only for RD people, or were ED people also invited. And you can be either ED or RD to be accepted to Rice--2 decision plans.

No, it really doesn't clear things up. You say you were recently accepted to Rice, which implies that you applied ED in order to have already received a decision. But you were asking if ED people are invited to Owl Days, or only RD people. But if you got in ED, then you would already know the answer to that question.

That's where the confusion comes from. Unless you haven't received an invitation yet.

But the answer is yes, ED applicants are invited to any of the three Owl Days. There was some discussion among the Student Admission Council's On-Campus Programs Committee over whether it was worth it to invite ED acceptees to Owl Days, and there was very strong student opinion towards the positive.

I got in ED, but I didn't get an invitation to Owl Days... and the two other people at my school who also got accepted didn't get an invite either, so, I was just wondering.

But NYSkins, when are we supposed to get the invite?
