Owl Weekend

Will prospective owls be staying/following their hosts the entire time at Owl Weekend? What's a typical party going to be like?

You don't have to stay with your host the whole time - your host will have classes and other committments that you will not be interested it, and you will have activities that they won't be invited to or interested in.

DO YOUR HOST A FAVOR - TELL THEM WHERE YOU WILL BE AND WHEN YOU'LL BE BACK.

Losing prospective students is kind of unfortunate.

I don't think Rice is reimbursing for everyone, just some letters said that they'll reimburse up to 300 dollars.

they're playing favorites again, and I'm not one tear

of course, that's what the whole admission process is, isn't it?

How do we sign up for classes and such? Any recommendations on certain classes to attend?

Is there a permission slip I'm supposed to have?

You don't need to sign up for classes to visit them during owl weekend - when you arrive, you'll get a class schedule, and then you pick the ones that you want to see, and go to them. Easy as that.

If anyone is staying in Hanzen, let me know. I just realized my s. is hosting this weekend. Have fun!

LOL, I got recognized by a CC lurker as Jenskate at the Phils concert tonight!

I'm quitting CC, seriously, on the last day of classes.

I'm in Martel now...and very bored. If anyone wants to do anything tonight (a.k.a party), let me know.

So, what did you guys think? Impressions, questions, comments, concerns, likes, dislikes?

It was nice- alot less structured than similar programs at other colleges. They did a great job of pairing me w/ people of similar interests. It was a bit odd though... I was one of 10 prospies in an 8 person suite, which made it difficult to find someplace to sleep and get a chance in the bathroom. :)

i disliked the picnic line.....but other than that i LOVE Rice more now.....

KrazyKow - which college has 8 person suites? I didn't know those existed. That sounds kind of fun though.

Hehe, I walked over towards the food to throw something in the trash, then they said we could get in line, so I was about 5th... much shorter line for me at the picnic. :)

I was staying in Will Rice. There were two two-person bedrooms with a living room, connected to a bathroom that connects to another living room and 2 bedrooms. It's a nice setup, but I think it works better for 8 than 18.

There were fourteen people in my suite. Let's just leave it at that.

My roomies were nice, but they didn't seem interested in doing anything besides playing Halo, so I was basically forced to spend all my free time in the room with the others. Maybe I underestimated my social level when filling out the preliminary question thing, but that was a major downer.

That does kind of stink EE, but you didn't have to stay with them. There was so much going on... did you not go to any of it?

Lol, electronic error, me too. Exactly. In fact, did you stay in Martel? My name is Danny.

Who else stayed in Martel, by the way.

I went to the Phils concert and JamFest by myself, but I had trouble meeting people who weren't from Martel (I'm sure that was mostly my fault though).

Hi UncleFeezus. Yes, I was in Martel on the 2nd floor (nice to meet you).

Haha, wow. You were probably in my room.
