My S attended the Jan. 30 competition at OWU and they told us that results would be announced in late Feb., but now I can't remember the exact date. Any other Schubert scholars on CC that know?

Also, I was really impressed with Ohio Wesleyan. The campus was lovely and very well taken care of (will look better in spring than winter of course). Academically, I see this school as a great option for my S. Really hoping that that he gets more merit awards and can move this into the realm of possibility.

Want to shout it from the roof tops, so what better place than CC OWU ;)…drum roll please…S1 was offered a Founders scholarship in addition to the Schubert scholarship!!! He can attend Ohio Wesleyan if he wants to now! Feel like crying. He’s worked so hard to get to this point…I am so happy for him…

Does anyone know approximately how many Schubert scholarships were awarded and for how much? I have seen other CC postings that state they cover up to full tuition, whereas the OWU website states they cover up to full tuition, room and board?

The Schubert awards do seem to vary. My son’s covered half his tuition for all 4 years. I don’t know how many Schubert awards are given each year, but yes, some do cover their entire tuition and room and board! They have to attend a competition for the additional merit scholarships. That’ how my S just earned the additional Founders award. OWU is a really great fit for my S academically, it’s a great option for him.

Just found out she received $8000 per year Founders scholarship on top of her $22,500. But, she received full tuition at Ohio State plus another merit award so it looks like she will be a Buckeye! Still love OWU but it would still cost almost 20k to attend where Ohio State is down to 9k and counting as she is waiting on outside scholarship decisions.

Good luck to the future 2016 class at OWU, she would be there but we just can’t turn down the osu offer.

My S received an additional $10,000 from the competition on top of the Schubert scholarship. He has decided though on OSU as well. We live near Otterbein which is very similar to OWU in size. He wanted something bigger where he could explore more. Plus there is much more to do in Columbus. Both schools would give him great opportunities! I feel bad turning down OWU. It was so pretty there and everyone was so nice, but I am not the one going. It had to be his decision.
