Hey guys!

I'm sending in my app for OAP tomorrow and am extremely nervous. Has anyone here applied before/gotten in? Is it extremely competetive? Do they give a lot of money for people whos parents together make around 40k? Is it a good program? Hard classes? FUN?

thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!

These are summer programs, right? They are nor competitive, or exclusive, and have nothing to do with either Cambridge or Oxford, the only connection is that as the colleges provide space for the programs. The undergrads leave for summertime, (and the grads, who stay, live elsewhere) so the colleges are virtually empty, but they can make a good money from these programs, however, they are not administering them, the Oxbridge faculties have nothing to do with such programs.
They are fun? Surely, and you can learn a lot, I guess. But these programs are created by companies, who place them in Oxford or Cambridge, because of the university brands. Uk summer program in Liverpool? Not that fancy. Summer program in Oxbridge? Wohoo!! Participating in a summer program in a world top 10 university, especially in such ancient ones, sounds cool. And I’m sure it’s cool, but again: the colleges within the universities just provide the space, so you will eat at the Harry Potter like halls, live in the beautiful medieval buildings, but that’s something that every well-connected -?- tourist can do for some money, especially in summertime… You will not receive ANY teacing from the university, nor it’s staff. Probably from PhD students, who are willing to this for some money…
