Do Oxford and Cambridge check high school GPA for International applicants(U.S.)? On their website it only mentions SAT and AP score requirements.
Cambridge wants a ‘strong’ GPA but doesn’t specify. Oxford doesn’t care (n.b., you can only apply to one or the other, not both). From your other threads you are either a sophomore or a junior interested in biological sciences and psychology. Be aware that you will need 5’s on AP Calc BC + at least one of Physics, Chem & Bio (and most applicants will have all three of those), plus a further 5 if you go for Cambridge. If you aren’t sure what you want to do the Cambridge Tripos is more flexible than Oxfords Biological Sciences, but in neither will you do any psychology at all.
I wouldn’t try and lie about it, but the actual GPA is not very important in an Oxbridge application, partly because the universities know that US schools vary in their standards. Much more important are your recommendation (from your bio teacher); your AP scores, predicted or already achieved; your personal statement explainng why you want to study whatever you end up applying for; the interview; and any extra academic tests they ask for.
First of all, you need to make a firm decision whether you want to study bio or psychology.
Next, I saw your list of APs you are taking senior year on one of your other threads. Does this mean that you are currently in senior year? If so you’ve missed the deadline for Oxbridge applications for next year, and would need to look at a gap year before applying (by 15 October 2016) for 2017 admission. Second, have you taken AP biology already? If not, your application for biology at any UK university is dead in the water. The score would need to be 5 for Oxbridge. Calculus is helpful if you’re applying instead for psychology.
There is psychology in Cambridge Natural Sciences, just not in the first year. There are several psychology courses at Oxford, including some combined subjects.
So if I have 5’s in Biology/Calculus BC/Physics/Chem/Psychology and a 2350 SAT and 800 in Math2 and 780 in Biology but a 3.7 gpa. What would my chances be? (For Biology)
@persia5 you have asked the question several times now, and gotten the same answer every time, from every poster: your GPA will not be an issue- so let it go. IF you apply with all those scores (which tbh would be a surprise given your other posts) AND you write a decent (in Oxbridge terms) PS, THEN you would be very likely to get an interview at either Ox or Cam. If you get to interview, though, all bets are off: nobody can chance you. That’s because the interview is absolutely key and nobody, including you, knows how you will do in that setting.
@cupcake is right that you can do psych at Cambridge after first year, but there are no Natural Science + Psych options at Oxford.
