Oxford Chances!!!

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I was wondering what my chances were for getting into Oxford College of Emory University. I dont think I can get into Emory College, but I have heard the average ACT for Oxford is 23-28. I would be planning to major in Business and want to transfer to the Business school. I also want to minor in German. Any info. would help. Thanks</p>

<p>GPA: 3.95 unweighted
Top 10% of my class.
ACT: 26 </p>

<p>About 15 Honors classes and will have 4 APs by the end of my Senior year (my school only offers 6)-A's in all AP</p>

<p>ECs:
-Volunteering at Hospital in the summer </p>

<p>-About 100 hours of random volunteering with various organizations</p>

<p>-Work part time at Chick-fil-A (3 yrs)</p>

<p>-Lettered in Band, Bowling, Football</p>

<p>-Writer for School Paper</p>

<p>-Member of Mock Trial for 4 yrs. </p>

<p>-I have a lot of various community serive hours like tornado recovery, Red Cross, charities, and school volunteering</p>

<p>-Member of NHS</p>

<p>-Member of BETA</p>

<p>-Member of DECA and FBLA</p>

<p>Awards:</p>

<p>Billy Mitchell Award- c/2ndLt. in Civil Air Patrol (equivalent of Eagle Scout)</p>

<p>I was also an International DECA competitor (business and marketing club) for creating a business and went to Anaheim CA.</p>

<p>I also attended the TN Governor's School for International Studies at the University of Memphis. I was a student there and took classes in Political Science and Microeconomics</p>

<p>Also...I won't need a scholarship for tuition, but I will need financial aid for room and board (its a long explanation.) What sort of aid do you think I could get. Family income about $50,000</p>

<p>You have better stats than I had, and I got in. Also, the average ACT score is 25-29 according to <a href=“http://oxford.emory.edu/admission/oxford_facts.dot[/url]”>http://oxford.emory.edu/admission/oxford_facts.dot&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>ok cool…I just got the preview book today and that’s what it said. It may have been an old book. </p>

<p>i think you’re in for oxford. i wouldnt sweat it. i got in [early action] w/ lesser stats
[gpa: 3.5; top 17% ; SAT 1500/2230]
i think you have a good shot for emory college as well. my friend had a similar rank as you and he got in. give both a try!</p>

<p>I don’t think she has a chance at Emory College. Her ACT is too low.
Bahruny, your SAT is really good, and way above the average, so that probably made up for your GPA.</p>

<p>I think you have a great chance at oxford, you should go for it and maybe even apply early action.</p>
