I was just wondering what are my chances getting into Oxford College (I'm applying to Emory but not as hopeful as Oxford). Currently working on my essays</p>

<p>ACT 25 (I know this is quite low and am taking another in Oct) If I explain how I'm bad at testing will that help?
GPA 3.88 (I'm not sure if this is weighted/ unweighted our school report cards are weird)
I've taken 9 AP classes (two sophomore year, 3 junior year and will have 4 completed by end of senior year ) 3s on basically all of them
I did tennis freshman and sophomore year and am in many clubs (+ all honor societies minus rho cappa and arts) and have exceeded our school's recommended volunteer hours of 150.</p>

<p>I don't know what else I need to mention but this is a rough outline. Please, any answers and other recommendations to make my application stronger would be much appreciated. Thank you so much :)</p>

<p>You definitely need to get the test scores up, and your EC’s are a little weak. Unfortunately, Emory is an incredibly hard school to get into, so try and do something big to add to your list of EC’s </p>

<p>Actual list of ECs include: Literary Magazine, National English Honor Socierty, Ecology Club, Science Olympiad, National Honors Society, Science National Honors Society, Hate Free @ OE (anti-bullying club), Student Ambassador. This year I’m hoping to be president for at least Eco or SNHS</p>

<p>I would definitely agree that you need much better test scores in order to stand a chance at getting into Oxford. Keep in mind, however, that AP test scores play a MAJOR role in applying to British schools; they are arguably far more important than SAT/ACTs. This is because APs are more comparable to British A Levels than other testing methods. <p>Aint gonna happen at where you are currently. I think they require like 5s on 4 AP tests or something like that. Look at much less selective colleges.</p>

@lsoglesbee I have a 3.905 GPA but when I asked other schools I applied, they told me that my GPA is actually 3.65- somethin when it is calculated by their scale(I guess its bcuz our school doesnt have many ap classes and I only took 2). So I GUESS I HAVE A 3.65 :frowning: which sucks… I have a 1290 SAT (Math + Reading. overall is 1870) Soccer Varsity and Volleyball Varsity, two internships at some UK business consulting company and have about 200 hours of volunteer work for teaching english to poor kids english…

So these are somewhat my stats… I already knew that I would’t be able to make it to Emory College, so I decided to apply for Oxford…AND I applied for Early decision 2. The result comes out on the 15th which is like just few days ahead but I just wanted to know my chances…
