I've been admitted to both schools RD. I'll be paying full price at either school. I'm from New York. I was admitted to Oxford and Villanova, and waitlisted at a few other schools, but I feel these two are my front runners. I'm interested in something Business related. Please tell me which is more prestigious, academically superior, socially fun, and favorable for top tier grad laws schools.

. I am trying to understand how you didn’t get into Emory if you got into Villanova (unless you didn’t apply to Emory). Oh well, Top 20 admissions is probably more random than admissions of non top 20-25 schools with similar freshman stats (also, we simply accept a lower percentage, though we and Villanova receive a similar amount of apps).I don’t think either should be particularly disadvantageous vs. the other. Also, you’ll be graduating with a bachelors of something from Emory College (or Goizueta B-school) if you went to Oxford. Emory performs well in law school placement (even top tier). You may not have as much fun at Oxford as Villanova (I think Villanova is much larger, not sure though), but the academics in the social sciences and humanities are likely to be more rigorous because of the size and the focus on the liberal arts at Oxford (they have the whole INQ curriculum and the option of a sophomore honors project, which if you do well freshman year, you should try because it will help you stand out). Oxford is great if you don’t mind being highly engaged with your academic experience. Social life obviously isn’t too bad either (screw them for being able to get T-pain!). Note that you are ultimately comparing 2 years at Emory’s LAC sort of campus and 2 years at Emory main campus to 4 years Villanova (which is basically, Emory, but more intense first 2 years vs. Villanova). Just think about that. Villlanova is more selective than Oxford and is about as selective as Emory (more selective on lower end, much less selective on top end), but I definitely don’t really think it’s better than either unless you value “fun” a lot more than academic experience. B-school is better at Emory for sure. Oxford and Villanova should simply not be compared. One is a liberal arts intensive LAC 2 year experience and the other is a university with a medium size undergraduate student body (like main campus).
