Oxford Interview Chances?

Ahan. Well to my astonishment, the sentence that you mentioned:

“generally people either love or hate Keble’s architecture.”
Iwould like to tell you that some one else, mentioned this to me exactly and i mean exactly as you did. Word to Word…damn.

Ha! Yeah, Keble’s ‘look’ is unusual. When you mention Keble, most people immediately think of the architecture.

It’s the same for a couple of other colleges too - St Catz and St Anne’s spring to mind. St Catz is generally described as ugly - but it’s really not. It’s just got a glass-and-concrete design that people don’t associate with the traditional ivy-covered grass-filled Oxford quad style (e.g. like Teddy Hall or Queens’). St Anne’s, however, is just horrible to look at in every way, IMO.

Ahan, i c… Well this all is making me more curious and excited for the coming October. Lets see how i percieve all these colleges. But i hope i make till there, as i want the gradesssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

If you want to know anything more about Oxford life, the tutorial system etc just PM me. :)

@ Laylah

yaeh sure i want to know. but i am unabled to PM you… so how can I ask you now?

Sorry, I forgot I disabled PMs ages ago - I’ve enabled it again now, so feel free to PM me :)

No problems!

Keble is absolutely gorgeous. Though I thought it was students at St. Johns who stole the bricks…the blue ones were worth the most! They did it because they saw the “new” architectural style as an insult to the traditionally Gothic style that defined the rest of Oxford.

If you want to know how Keble compares academically to others, one thing to consult is the Norrington Table, which attempts to rank the colleges (according to the percentage of students who get a first). Currently Keble is ranked 14th.

@ Hillary

Thanks. Where can i find that table? And are you an oxonian as well?
