Hi everyone!
I'm currently a senior in high school in the US, and I really want to study medicine at Oxford, it's been a dream of mine. I'm fairly comfortable with the application process, and I am aware of the quota on medical students at Oxford. That aside, I thought I might as well give i a shot if only to say that I had at least tried. I've registered to take the BMAT, and I still have to take a Chemistry Subject Test, which I'm fairly confident I can get at least a 750 in.

My other stats are as follows
SAT I: 2270 (single sitting) 2280 (superscore -_-)

SAT II's: US history (which i figure is useless) 720
Biology: 800
Math II: 770

AP Scores:
Government/Politics, World History, and APUSH: 4's
Biology, Calculus BC, and Language/Composition: 5's

I've done a Medical pathway at my school, and I am in the final year, and I have vounteered at hospitals and private practices in the past, along with community service ECs, and NHS.

Well, if you’ve chosen Oxford because you thought it is easier to get into than let’s say Harvard or Stanford, you’re wrong! For an American applicant it is actually tougher to get into Oxford. They require at least a 700M, 700R and 700W, which you probably have with your 2280, or they expect an ACT of over 32. They also at least expect 3AP 5’s and 3 +700’s in relevant SAT II subjects. However, this is the BARE minimum. This is what I’d say you should go for the have a chance:

SAT: >2300, with a score of at least 750 in each subject, or an ACT 34 with a very good Math and Science score.

SAT II’s : Bio score is good, Math II is also decent, but that US History is neither relevant nor outstanding… I don’t know if it’s possible (not from the US), but try and take another subject that is relevant and score a 750+.

AP Scores: Pretty decent, however, 3 5’s is the bare minimum, so take other APs that are relevant (self study if you must), it say 5 5’s would be good.

ECs don’t mean ***** at Oxford, unless you incorporate them in your essays subtly (they shouldn’t of course revolve around them).

em, the breakdown of my SAT score would be 730W 750CR and 800M
and i’m going in for a third subject test in chemistry, and i’m taking 4 more APs this year
