Hi! I was considering applying to Oxford but I know very little about the British system of admission and college life. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the admission process, as well as the cultural differences. Sorry this is a kind of vague question. Thanks!

The British system is very, very different. Most importantly in terms of logistics - applications are due much earlier and may require British entrance exams. Next thing to know - money - you won’t be getting any from Oxford. Next - major (in the UK ‘course’). For Oxford and Cambridge, you will take a single ‘course’ which is like a major. That’s all you will study for the three years it takes to get a B(A or S).
Trot on over to the Oxford website and have a look around to learn more.

I have written over 500 posts about this! Search the boards for my posts and others. Especially in the study abroad forum.

Application deadline for admission October 2011 = 15 Octobner 2010
