Oxy chances and any other suggestions?

Junior transfer w/ AS degree
Current College: Community College
GPA: 3.69
Recs: Should be pretty good
Work: Part-time math tutor
Activities: PTK Officer, Obama for America Precinct Captain
Major: Geology
Special Circumstances:
33 y/o high school drop out. Commuting 70 miles a day. Placed into pre-algebra and made it to Calculus in two years by teaching myself algebra and taking pre-calc I in the summer, now I work at my college as a peer tutor.

By the way. My GPA is so low because I got Bs in a summer macroeconomics class and a fast track anatomy and physiology class (a year of A&P in one semester). I have no grades lower than a B.

I'm also applying to Tulane and the local state college that I know I will get into. I'd really like to go to a liberal arts college or at least a very small university. Needs a geology program though.

should have a decent shot, but why not apply to a continuing ed. program or a school that offers a degree for people in your situation?

Because I actually want to end up with a decent career and a degree in criminal justice or early childhood education isn't going to do me any good ;). Besides, I decided when I went back to school that I was going to do it right.

hi, i was wondering if someone could help me out.

i go to the university of hartford, and i'm a freshman

i made it onto the presidents list, and i have a 3.8 GPA with six 4 credit courses a semester.

i got 5 A's and 1 B+

by the end of the year i will have enough credits to not need to submit SAT scores, so i wont

what are my chances at transfer to tulane?

oh and idk if this matters, or will help me, but i am not asking for any money or loans at all.

thank you :)!

it seems as if you arent aware of the full scope of programs offered to people in your situation, schools like columbia and upenn offer programs for non traditional applicants like yourself, do some research

and what does "doing it right entail"? what are your career goals? do you want to go to grad school?

I thought you were referring to something like Excelsior.

I've looked into a couple of those programs but so far haven't found any that fit. A lot of them limit the student to liberal arts curricula.
