Oxy – Columbia 3 +3 law program

Does anyone really do (qualify for) this program or is it simply "on-the-books" to make
Columbia look like they are creatively reaching out to involve others in their law program?

I would also like to know about this program. If it really is possible to do, it looks like a great opportunity!

Sounds intriguing. I’ll be sure to have D ask about it when we visit in March.

I spoke with an admissions councilor before and he told me that few kids do pursue the program and usually they’re pretty successful in sending anywhere from 1-3 kids per year. There’s similar programs in a lot of liberal arts colleges.

Yeah there’re about 20 liberal arts colleges that have this 3-3 program with Columbia Law School. You can google it.

Only 20, that surprises me. If 1 -3 a year do the program a year, that is actually impressive.

I’ve emailed the advisor and she said that most students self-select to stay for four years–she personally has worked there four years and not recommended a single student for the program. However, she insists that those who do fulfill the (very rigorous) requirements are very likely to be accepted.
