Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!! This is just the biggest surprise, I had no idea they’d be sent THIS soon! Good luck guys :)

S received acceptance letter today via USPS priority flat rate mailing envelope. S has in mind with 2 other colleges already. Hopefully an overnight stay and taking the classes at Occidental will change his mind. BTW, we are in Southern California.

I checked my mail as soon as I got home and didn’t get anything. Should I be concerned?

Got an acceptance letter today!

Congrats Bro,

How heavy is your package? 1lbs?

accepted in MA today it came in a priority envelope… a little odd looking. congrats to everyone!

Now that people are getting their results (if people want) we should do that results posting thing other threads do, so that prospective applicants can see who got in with what stats etc…

I’ll copy and paste the formatting from another thread so that we can copy and paste it here with our own results:

General Comments:

Ditto. Congrats to everyone.

Does anyone know if rejection letters were sent at the same time? Didn’t get anything yet, live in middle of country, so am thinking it’s not looking likely for me. Great news for those who got in!

Woah – total surprise, got a giant envelope from Oxy today! Makes the sting of getting waitlisted at UCI today feel somewhat better. Hooray!

Decision: Accepted
GPA: 3.45 UW, 3.81 W
ACT: 35 (~2300 SAT)
Extracurriculars: DECA & my school’s literary magazine are my main ones, but hundreds of hours of volunteering services, emphasis on children / disabled children.
Essays: HAH… Something interesting, actually. I forgot to submit one of the questions on my supplemental when I hit the submit button, so I emailed the Oxy admissions officers apologizing for my mistake (in a good natured tone). They responded back promptly and sounded somewhat amused. Guess it worked out okay!

Excited that I got in, despite my low GPA. Good luck to all!

o.O I live in CA, only 5 hours away from Oxy… is it bad that I did not receive anything yet??? now I am nervous…

I didn’t get anything too but I am pretty sure it’s normal. They will probably publish answers next weekend! :-)

Priority time frame is listed at the USPS site as 2 - 3 business days, so I think Monday will tell the tale for most students. Nothing here in Northern California today.

A financial aid letter from a school near Oxy did arrive here today, postmarked 3/21, so I suspect the larger Oxy mailing will get to most on Monday.

Good luck everyone!

Hate to think it, but is it possible that acceptances were received today since they were sent priority? If rejections were sent through the slower regular mail, maybe that’s why no one has received a rejection yet…just a thought. Hoping for the best for everyone!

D received her accceptance today. We are in San Diego. So disappointed with the financial aid award. One of the most expensive schools and the worst financial aid we’ve received so far. After taking out some scholarship $$ we are left with a bill of $44,000. This is thousands more than our efc. I thought Oxy was 100% need met. It is really the only reason she applied.

@mommy247
How disrespectful of you to say that the promise of money “is really the only reason she applied” to Oxy. To all of us who dream of an acceptance, and who want to go to Oxy for all of the right reasons, you are an insult. Because of you, one of us will not get in.

It seems like priority mail should’ve arrived by today, as some of the accepted students earlier in this thread live on the east coast. Let’s hope that those of us anxiously awaiting an acceptance get a big, fat Tiger envelope on Monday.

Acceptance arrived today in southern SF Bay Area! The others in CA should get theirs on Monday, I would think.

Nothing in Connecticut so far, though I’m the only one from my school who applied so don’t take my word too seriously.

International student in the So Cal area, and Oxy is offering me so much aid! I got into UCLA, but UCs don’t offer aid to internationals, so Oxy will be a MUCH better financial choice, especially since my family doesn’t make much (less than $50,000 a year)… I REALLY loved Oxy when I interviewed there… My interviewer and I were such a perfect match!

I could really sense that I would fit well at Oxy… and well, I would help out my parents so much with all this financial aid! Oxy is definitely on the top of my list now…! I can’t describe how happy I am!
