As someone who’s gone through the program, I couldn’t find any info about it online beyond the interviewing process and feel like people NEED to know what they’re signing up for when the commit to this. If you are looking to make a career/calling in nonprofits/social justice, THIS is a must. If you aren’t, then understand that your time belongs to the program. YES it’s a great scholarship, St. John’s is a good school, there are opportunities. But when I tell you that your time is theirs, I mean it.
What kind of program tells you that if you don’t complete a graduate-level human research study WITH project implementation on time (Even in the middle of a pandemic), then you lose the scholarship?
Maybe the pandemic is getting to me, but my mental health in this program is absolutely garbage. Maybe I’m a negative downer, but for me, I kind of regret this decision. I think to myself all the time about how different my path would be if i didnt choose to commit to the program. Ask around, but this program requires REALLY HEAVY COMMITMENT TO VOLUNTEER SERVICE AND COMPLETING LOTS OF BUSY WORK REVOLVING AROUND REFLECTING. Make sure it’s the right choice for you.
