P is for Pomona. A is for acceptance...maybe?

erm..I am a senior and have been lurking on this site for a while.
I am thinking about applying ED to Pomona and am going to visit in a month or so before I make my decision. My stats aren't great and I am wondering how slim my chances look.

Class size?

Your school doesn't look too competitive based on your AP scores (although a small sample size (1, you) is not very accurate).

Your GPA is quite low.

You have a 4.0 unweighted GPA senior year, but school has only started for about a month? I don't know if you averaged the senior GPA ias a full year or not to obtain 3.4 unweighted.

My class is about 250. My AP scores dont represent the school. Most kids get 5s on them, but I was lazy and never did the readings or studied. Last year we had 5 kids accepted to brown, 1 to princeton, 1 to yale, 2 to williams, 3 to dartmouth. Kids with lower gpas and sats than me have been accepted to both dartmouth and brown from my school. But yeah, I know my gpa is pretty dang low, just wondering my overall chance

GPA kills you a lot. Test scores are great. Pomona ED definitely helps, although you can't realistically expect to call it a match in any way. I call low reach/slight reach, because its distantly within your range.

I bet if you apply ED you will be deferred (if not rejected outright) so admissions can get a better look at your senior grades.

I am thinking of doing ED II so my senior grades will be seen. but yea...my gpa blows...is there even a chance of acceptance?

jumpin N bumpin...

Bump...anyone? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Crapshoot IMO. Go for it.
