P-NOM aint cuttin' it? thizz

i got a letter today saying i was fully qualified and that i was put on the NWL. but i have a primary nomination. this is cause for concern. i emailed MAJ houston. thoughts?

How long ago did you get your nom and was it from a MOC or Service related? Perhaps the nom hasn't been received by the academy?

Are you sure you were the primary nominee? When our Congressman's office called to tell my son he had a nomination, she made it sound like he was the primary. When he got the official letter stating he was a nominee, we found out they don't pick a primary and just send 10 names.

I would check into the possiblity of there being no primary nom, as WAMom68 said. I recall reading somewhere that MOCs/Senators are well on there way to phasing out the whole "principal nominee/alternate nominee" practice and simply handing the academies an unmarked slate of 10 names. I'm sure your Rep/Senator's office would know if you called.

rep's office says: i got a p-nom to WP and a reg nom to USNA
USMA confirmed I had a p-nom.

did WP say anything besides you got a p-nom? like how you got put on the NWL and didnt get an appointment?

Well I am confused. I had heard if you are the primary nominee and fully qualified you would automatically get an offer of admission and not be on the NWL. I am interested to see what Maj. Houston has to say about this.

yeah, i emailed him.

Yeah, something is definitely not right if you got a p-nom and are fully qualified.

well i called up today and they didn't know why I got a letter regard the NWL. They said I will get an offer of appointment in the mail in a few days. thizz. i guess i gotta buy my whole platoon cigars now.

*** stop saying thizz your not a gangster!!!

Congrats 8iz---!!
