Okay so I just changed one of my courses to P/NP and it's a breadth course and I made a huge mistake. Telebears wont let me change it back to letter grade because the deadline has passed.

Any ideas? What can I do? Can I do anything at all? Help!!!!

Well, if by "it's a breadth course," you mean "I'm only taking it for breadth," then P/NP really isn't a big deal. The only courses that need letter grades are major prereqs and R&C courses.

I thought breadth meant that it's a major prereq...

but anyway...yeah it's a major prereq...it's VERY important and I made a HUGE mistake. Does anyone know if I can petition or something to switch it back to letter grade?

there is no way to fix this....i would have waited until just before the 31st if wanted to switch to p/np...i doubt admins would be willing to make an exception here...unless you really needed the class for a major prereq or LD/UD (which you need to take for a letter grade most of the time) dont worry so much about if you think you should have kept it for an easy A or something along those lines...just try to make the best of your situation as it is now...good luck

editing my msg: i just saw kultur's post

are there other course you could use to satisfy this req you mention? unless its the only one, i dont see why they would be lenient or honor your petition

Yes it is the ONLY course--chemistry 4--for the chemistry major...and unknowingly I made a mistake.

And I wasn't going to get an "easy A" I would be lucky to get a C in there..

I think you should schedule a meeting with your dean. He/she may be the only one who can change it.
