i kno half the things mean nothing but can you chance me please ^__^

I dont think anybody can really chance you until you really do all, or even some, of these things. Also, a lot of the things you wrote on here require a lot of dedication, more dedication than any hs student can give in a 5 day week of 24 hour days. Try to focus on something you love rather than doing myriad activities. Also, if those psat and sat2 scores are real, then you have a great start on college admissions. If the psat is your prediction, then you should really not aspire that high because it is very difficult to get a 2350 on the sat no matter how optimistic you are.

lol most of it i've already done
i think the one thing i haven't done is USAMO

I would think might Narcissa might have borrowed Hermione's time turner... except that one of my son's friend is like that, and is currently taking 5 courses at a time (instead of the 'maximum', 4) at Brown.

Being captain/president of eight activities is quite an accomplishment, but I really wonder if it gives you the chance to devote full energy to any one (or two or three or even four) of them. You have tremenous numbers and energy and natural smarts. When you go to write your college essays, you need to give yourself a little leisure for reflection and thought. The admissions committee at Chicago - and at any of its peers - sees high numbers every day they read applications. They have to also see the student behind the numbers.

thank you. i do have a passion, tho; I love math and science (altho i want to major in business?) and the math and science ECs i devote A LOT of time to. (plus tennis I devote a lot of time to as well, but that's just cuz exercise is important.)

Narcissa,
You are aware there's no undergrad business major at UChicago...right?

Louie,

not at all helpful.

no not helpful, but funny.lol

Narcissa,

"and the math and science ECs i devote A LOT of time to. (plus tennis I devote a lot of time to as well, but that's just cuz exercise is important.)"

Ok, that's fine. Don't you think that spreading around the leadership positions of some of your other clubs might not be a bad idea, though? My son captained his school's sci olympiad team ... and it took a bit of work.

It's the beginning of your junior year and you're already thinking about university? Holy crap. @_______________@

I imagine she is at least halfway through her Junior year about now, which is probably a good time to start thinking about colleges.

lol yeah i think so too =/

Louie was trying to make a point. Narcissa, I wish you the best, but remember that there are thousands of kids out there with the same great stats and ECs you have. Chicago values individualism and thinks about the things you can contribute to their school, so make sure you emphasize that in your essays.

So yeah.. write amazing essays that emphasize the person you are and show your personality, and remember that stats and ECs aren't everything. :)

Good luck!

rolls up sleeves Okay, Narcissa. Can you think of ANYTHING on your application that you could POSSIBLY improve? No? I didn't think so. So calm down, stop spending your time on CC posting chance threads, and start acting as a REALLY devoted leader to whichever of those clubs you value most. Next year, write good essays, get good recs, and you'll get into a great school. That's about the best anyone can do; chance threads aren't going to do anything for you. Good luck!

hahah okayy
