My Mid has told me he's taking his PRT today......please , someone, refresh my memory bank on exactly what the PRT test entails , how often it's administered and what are the satisfactory passing "grade" requirements...thanks and,

Go NAVY,
G5

Yes, today is PRT day for spring semester!

PRT = physical readiness test. It includes 2 minutes of pushups, 2 minutes of situps, and a 1.5 mile run.

The grading criteria are shown on the USNA.org web site:
PRT GRADING SCALE

These scoring ranges may not be exact, but the minimum and maximum scores look the same as those that used to be posted on the USNA web site.

Thank you 2012mom? for that great info......now.....what's a "QPR" ?

GO NAVY,
G5

Its pretty much the same as a GPA. I forget what it stands for, but it determines your AOM(Academic order of merit) which is 70% of your overall order of merit.

QPR = "Quality Point Ratio"

Grades are averaged like most colleges using a weighted hour system (4-hour class versus 2-hour class) and the grade obtained (A= 4-points). Every semester a Mid will have a QPR. After the first semester, a cumulative QPR (CQPR) will also be done. A 2.0 is required for graduation and to be considered not "Un Sat." If a Mid fails 2 or more courses, has a semester QPR below a 1.5, falls behind in the graduation matrix (to graduate on a 4-year time plan) s/he can be dismissed.

Grades are also done in military performance, conduct, physical education classes, and summer programs. They are not included in the QPR but are used to determine class standing.
