We decided to start visiting and are going to York College, Susquehanna, and possibly Duquesne on Easter break.

I am unsure if it is worth the extra hours of traveling to see Duquesne. From what i've read it is in the city of Pittsburgh. My concern is the city and will it be safe for student teaching when that comes around!

What does everyone think? ANyone have knowledge of pittsburgh?

I don’t think that safety should be the issue here. But there is a big difference between Selinsgrove and York and Pittsburgh. What environment is the student looking for? If you do not want to be in a city, then Pittsburgh would be a poor choice. If you do want a city, Pittsburgh has much to offer, and if you are interested in music you should also look at Carnegie Mellon. Also, if you want a smaller college in central PA, look at Lebanon Valley College and Elizabethtown College.
