Is PA school more or less difficult to get into than medical school and why?
There’s no easy answer. Many would say that the GRE is easier than the MCAT, so there’s that. The GRE is easier to study for, as well.
However, some find that the frequently PA-school-expected/required 2000+ hours hands-on patient care experiences to be more difficult to get.
When son’s GF went thru the PA app process 2 years ago, she found that she was competing against many former military medics and paramedics who each had a gazillion hours of intensive hands-on patient care. In the end, she was accepted to 3 programs (including Duke!), but chose the far less expensive instate UAB.
Less difficult than med school but still difficult.
