Pace as a safety?

Hi! So I’m a current junior, ~102 mean GPA throughout my past 2 years of school and have fluctuated from being between the top 5% and 10% in my class. I’ve only taken honors courses throughout my past 2 years and this year my courseload is 4 APs (Bio, Physics 1, USH, Lang) and 1 Dowling College class (Precalc). My expected senior courseload is AP Psych, Gov & Pol, Chem, Lit, Dowling College Calculus. I’m very involved in school (dance team, KEY Club, Class Council, NHS Probate because my school doesn’t open up NHS until you’re a senior, and joining drama and student council most likely this year). I also have a job and am beginning a volunteer program at a local hospital.

If I keep all of this up, I feel like I’m set to go to ALMOST any place my heart desires. But, I’m a huge worry wort and need to have an excellent backup. I’ve heard great things about Pace, and am a NYS resident, so it’d be relatively local and enjoyable for me.

Is Pace a good backup for someone like me? Should I aim for something with higher GPA/SAT/ACT or lower? Did anyone put Pace as their backup and end up going to it? Anything will help, thanks!

I know a lot of people who went to pace. My doctor went to pace lol. It’s a great school if you make it a great school.

@a20171 thanks! I’m actually going for bio/prehealth (if i dont get weeded out, i dont think i will tho lol) and am looking into stony & ub as backups! i was into the cunys for a while and just heard sooo much more negatives about them than positives, so i let them go…thanks for your help tho! any other inputs

Pace is an excellent safety school, especially for the sciences. They just poured millions of dollars into their science department and it has a great reputation. With your stats, you would probably qualify for their Honors College, which gives you tons of amazing opportunities. I applied here as a safety as well, after visiting it and deciding I’d have no problem spending four years there.
