Pace BFA Callback - hotel suggestions needed

Hi! My D just submitted her prescreen last Saturday (nothing like waiting until the very last day!) and received her invitation to audition/callback today. Anyone here that attended a Pace callback have any hotel suggestions in NYC?
Thanks much!

have not stayed in that part of NYC but i usually use orbitz or expedia to find hotels. expedia has a hotwire link where u can get a discounted non-refundable room. i’ll be back soon to let u know what neighborhood is called for pace. it’s at the very southern end of Manhatten (if you don’t know) and we liked a hotel that we stayed in Brooklyn that is only a short subway ride away. I think hotel in Brooklyn was Hotel indigo but i’ll double check. it was very nice.

ok, it’s in financial district. I “think” Tribecca may be close too but leave that for the NYC experts. For some reason, , google maps thinks Pace is in midtown. maybe there is a campus there too but when we visited over summer, the theatre stuff was in lower manhatten, not midtown. Good luck to her!

This was discussed in the MT forum. You might find your answer in this thread: <a href=“Where to stay-Pace - Musical Theater Major - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/musical-theater-major/1594176-where-to-stay-pace.html</a></p>

We were in town for the NYC Unifieds and stayed at the New Yorker. Penn Station is across the street and the subway station adjacent to the hotel has trains that take you right to the building where the audition is held. My only caution is to be sure you get off the right “Fulton St” stop. We emerged 3 blocks away from Pace and I didn’t have a map. The first two people we asked for directions were tourists, but we eventually were directed to walk three blocks and there was the building, with another “Fulton St” subway entrance next to it! The nice thing about the New Yorker was its location near Penn Station and…Macy’s!!

Hotels that are convenient within 10 min walk are Wall Street Andaz, World Trade Center Club Quarters, and Gild Hall and NY MAriott Downtown on West St. Priceline and Hotels.com can give you good deals at some of these at various times. These are hotels nearby. Just realize that there is not much going on here at night because its all the Financial District. If you just want to get within a train ride and stay in another area right now there is a groupon for The Milford which is not bad, The New Yorker is convenient to Penn Station, Yotel is real close to Port Authority, Affinia Manhattan is close to Penn Station. Many hotels in Times Square that depend on how lucky you can get with prices through various third parties. The deals change for each week that you are going so you need to do some research as to what you can get.
