PACE calls- NOT for acceptances into the MT Program, but for "are you interested" questions?

Hey everyone. I’m aware that PACE has been calling people to accept them into the MT program. But, I have also talked to some of my friends who have received a call from PACE (I don’t know if it was from their MT department or just admissions) asking them if they are “still interested” in PACE, but does that mean they are being considered? I do not know what this means. If you have experience with this or have received some sort of call, please share! I am anxiously waiting to hear back from them!! Thanks

In my limited experience, we got a TON of calls from Pace from regular admissions, not MT asking if D was going to attend because she got accepted there academically. These calls happened both before and after she got artistic rejection and continued after she told them multiple times that there was no interest if she was not admitted to the MT program. I think the folks who make the admissions calls don’t really talk to the MT department, so they don’t really understand the process from the student side. Before she got MT rejected she would tell the caller she was very interested, pending the MT acceptance and afterwards, she said she was no longer interested but the calls kept coming. This was only our experience though. Can’t speak for others.

^ Same. D has/had gotten numerous calls asking if she was interested in attending Pace because she was accepted academically. She had to explain every time that she was waiting for an MT decision. The calls don’t have anything to do with the MT program- just admissions trying to figure out if she is planning on attending Pace. If they were from MT or Acting- I believe they would state they were calling specifically for that purpose.

The PPA school and the undergrad admissions are not in contact for these calls. Their calls are only regarding academic acceptance. I am pretty sure the people calling don’t even have access to your artistic decision. They are totally seperate from each other in that sense. The artistic decisions have been just about made, so it’s just a matter of hearing directly from the school of performing arts

Same and never applied for anything just looked at school online a long time ago. Nothing filled out, but call after call. We ignore.

@gingersnap97 @stagedoormama @theatrestudent9 @sbc were these calls made by a student? or a faculty member? I haven’t received ANY calls yet, so I’m getting very worried and starting to think that I did not get accepted. I was admitted academically in the fall, but am waiting for the MT audition result. Thanks

@broadwaybabyyy The calls are usually made by students who work in undergrad admissions. it has nothing to do with the performing arts decisions, although I know those calls are going out. like I said, the students calling from undergrad admissions (not PPA) don’t even know you applied for MT

^Yup, what they said.

Still haven’t heard from the program, I’ve been checking the mail. Do they notify people throughout all of March into April?
