@cbdawg12 I interpreted it that you may receive a wait list. But they will not call you off that wait list if you don’t contact them first to let them know you want to stay on the wait list.
@cbdawg12
Is this how you are understanding the post above from Pace:
If you are academically accepted and have not heard, that is not hopeful. The people that have not heard anything may have hope if the admissions office hasn’t ok’d their application yet. Then they couldn’t be accepted yet.
My question is regarding alternate and wait listed. Do you only find that out by letter?
I believe you only find out if you are an alternate or wait list by letter. The only chance you have that you’ve been accepted and haven’t heard is if you haven’t been accepted academically yet.
My thought at this point is that you would have received a call if you were accepted to MT and had already been accepted academically. If you did not get a call (and you have been accepted academically) then I am thinking you will get a letter in the mail saying you have been waitlisted, rejected, or an alternate. Honestly I really have no idea - just what I can surmise by the information posted. Always trying to maintain hope!
I didn’t get that at all…I am thinking there still may be yeses to be had…We will see BAL y’all
No. Wayne seems pretty clear about that. The only remaining potential yes outcomes will be for alternates (defined how?) and wait list. Both of those categories will be receiving letters explaining their status. If you were admit, you have been called. The only sticking point is that if you have not been accepted into PACE University, you will not receive a letter until you are.
Or I suppose there could be yes outcomes for those who have yet to be academically admitted as Wayne stated that they are unable to inform those students until the academic decision is reached–so that could include yeses, WLs and redirects?
Not a no until you get the no. One thing I have learned from this nutty process is that there is not one way, there are always exceptions and keep a sense of humor. BAL!
Can anyone explain the difference between alternate and wait list? Is one better than the other? Do you any of these people get in???
@actkid alternate is waitlisted for a specific person. It’s the first tier waitlist. “Waitlist” is more general.
@GSOMTMom Thanks! I hate this waiting!!
I understand. It’s the worst!
Ok, not to get anyone’s hopes up, but we are seeing MT acceptance letters from Pace dated March 17th, received this past weekend (from people on the east coast) and these people did not receive phone calls. Meanwhile, there have been “no’s”, alternate and waitlist letters received. There really is no method to this madness, is there?
D just got a phone call this morning from Amy that she is in for MT! She hadn’t yet received an academic acceptance and that was what was holding up her phone call. I share this not just because I am out of my mind excited for and proud of her (which I am!), but also to let kids who might not hear when the first round of calls go out who have not received their academic admittance not to give up hope. At Pace it is a two pronged process and the theater department cannot issue their decision without the academic one having been completed. Hang in there everyone!
Congrats @4thtime
Wow! Glad I found this my daughter is a Junior all this information is great! We will be doing all this next year. She is looking at Pace and Wagner.
