Hello,

I am interested in theatre...I have been accepted to both Pace University and Marymount Manhattan College. What do you suggest and why?

Thanks!

I don't go to either school but I was interested in PACE and I think I am leaning towards Marymount because of the price differential. You make the most out of it, I have heard some good things from PACE, seems like a solid school, but that was for business. You don't want to be in debt up to you neck when you get out of college so just keep that in mind.

Well,

Pace comes out to about $42,000 and Marymount comes out to around $32,000. However, Pace offered me a $40,000 scholarship along with a $9,000 granty for my first year. Marymount offered me $5,000 in scholarships.

I was just wondering, in terms of theatre and just the university in general, which is better.

i have a friend at marymount for theatre/dance and loves it. i hear they have really good programs, don't really know much about pace.

I have a theatre friend at Pace and one at Marymount. Both are very talented.

As a theatre major myself, I'm glad I ended up at a school that wasn't mostly theatre majors. I think that part of having a well-rounded education is being around different kinds of people who are interested in different subjects. Being surrounded by theatre majors 24/7 can be very intense, cutthroat, and grating. If you're like me, Pace might be a better place for you because theatre is not the most common major. However, if you're the kind of person who only wants to be around other artistic people, I'd choose Marymount, because its most common majors are theatre, dance, etc.

Both have great acting programs, it just depends on your personality.
