Pace Performing Arts Acceptances 2024 (MT, BFA ACTING, FTVC, BA, COMMERCIAL DANCE)

Does anyone have any idea how many, when/if, will move from the waitlist to accepted? Or do you have a suggestion of another thread to post this question? Thanks!

@MomoftwinAT I don’t know the answer to your question. But I think my D has a online session with the department chair on Friday, so I can see if she can ask what has been the WL timeline in the past. I’ll PM you if she get an answer.

@MomoftwinAT Alternatively, your D can email Matthew Humphreys, Director of Pace FTVC program directly and ask her question. His email is mhumphreys@pace.edu. I know he’s been super busy getting the current students situated, but hopefully your D will get an answer from him.

@gmfalv did you get your call for Pace?

Has anyone found anymore info about waitlists and/or heard of any waitlist calls being made? My DD was waitlisted for commercial dance. Had email conversation back and forth with Wayne but no clear answers. Although she has a few other great opportunities, She is really stuck on Pace! With all going on and decision dates being pushed back not sure what the waitlist situation is going to end of being.

@MTMamoo

Thanks so much @MTMamoo.

My D emailed MH, but has not heard back yet. If you do hear any updates about the Pace BFA FTVC from your D about the waitlist, I would love to hear them :-).

My DD got the call today that she has been offered a spot in the commercial dance program off the waitlist! While this was her top choice program all along and shes ecstatic we were supposed to visit over break. She has not been to New York City since she was 13 years old. Anyone who can give us any insight into the university setting, dorms, activity, etc. to help her with her decision would be super helpful! Also if anyone who has committed has heard anything on whether classes will actually start in September. Hope everyone is staying healthy.

@shepmom4 I’ve officially committed for FTVC! I auditioned on campus and toured campus in Feb and though I’m not going into Commercial Dance, I can speak on the PPA programs and campus! When I went, the environment was so lovely! The PPA staff were friendly and helpful and patient with most students (or all that I saw). The PPA building is located in a seemingly safe area, I didn’t feel threatened or scared walking to the audition without my parent (and I’m from rural Alabama so!). The dorms, on the other hand, I’ve heard are not the best. Because of the price, most students tend to live off campus the rest of their time at Pace. However, 182 Broadway works much like an apartment building— that’s at least what current students told me. They have private bathrooms and are a bit of a walk from the school, but they’re the preferred dorm building. If you and your D value community, Maria’s Tower is the one for you or quads at 182 Broadway (which is what I’m doing and they’re signifcantly bigger than the other dorms). While 182 Broadway has a seeming lack of community, it has better lounges than Maria’s. I’ve also heard some pretty poor things about Maria’s bathroom situation (which are communal). As for the campus, it’s located in a super cool part of Manhattan. It’s minutes away from the Brooklyn Bridge, New Amsterdam and the police station and city hall. There are trains that run every which away so I don’t think transportation and getting around NYC will be a problem! When I visited, their seemed to be an overwhelming amount of food options around campus and off campus so! Overall, obviously, I’m for Pace lol— I loved the environment and though it’s a smaller college you still get the feel of a big campus because you’re in NYC! The PPA people are super sweet (Wayne Petro is so wonderful and Matthew Humphreys; goodness I’m ready to have class with him). As far as Pace is concerned on opening up, as of now, they’re a go for resuming school in the fall. Of course, this is if the pandemic is shifting and becoming better, but they plan to have physical, on campus school as of right now. Sorry if this was a bit long winded! Hope this helps your D!

Congrats! My DD has accepted the Commercial Dance offer from Pace. We visited it in October- friendly setting - Maria place is the dorm we are looking at - usually dorm room with a common shared bathroom.
The facilities for dance are good but honestly not as nice as Point Park. The performance from the commercial dance students was amazing!
Hoping she gets to start in class in September - doing Commercial Dance online won’t be the same .
The campus is in an awesome location in Manhattan - safe and convenient.

I have a dancer at Pace. Feel free to PM me your questions and I’m happy to answer for you!

I am wondering if anyone has heard about acceptance calls going out this year for the Class of 2025?

hi! I was just accepted to pace as an undecided major… however this was only because I missed the MT major application deadline. If I decide to commit will i still be able to select MT as my major? Will it require auditions? Thank you :slight_smile:
