I wasn’t able to attend the NYC auditions but my wife did and said that the vast majority of the new BFA would focus on acting and technique. There would just be a significant amount of specific attention to working as a professional in all areas of acting including VO, commecial and film work.

It sounded pefect to me.

All under the bridge for us, though. Congrats to all that get a chance in that one. I think it sounds like a great program to learn to utilize all avenues for opportunities in the most chllenging profession around.

Thanks smartcooky for the your $20 K – we will take it! S also got in at Marymount and Montclair State. Only auditioned at three schools. Easier for a boy for sure.

Has anyone heard from the wait list or heard if anyone has been waitlisted?
Has anyone heard from the BFA in On Screen Acting or heard if it is really happening or if the whole concept is tabled for another year due to certification?

im dying to hear from Pace! I would also like to know if anyone else has been wait listed, or heard of being wait listed? would this come by mail?

I do not think there is anything formal in writing about the new BFA program in TV, Film and Voice…from a legal standpoint I believe they can only talk about it. and waitlists will come as soon as people start receiving all their acceptances…according to CC only my D and TNMAMA’s S are the only two kids who have been accepted(chuckle)

Just reporting that I called Pace today and asked what the status of BFA Acting for Film program was. The answer was matter of fact, that the decisions are going out at the end of March. So for all of you like my D who are holding onto one last shred of hope and may they still have hope for their dreams in this process, there is a glimmer of some hope from the film program and I guess we can assume the program is happening.

My D got a callback for movement, no call for BFA Acting and no word either way for BFA Film, TV, VO.

The way I understood it was that if you got a callback for movement, they asked if you would be interested in the Film BFA in the event you didn’t make the Acting cut.

I have no real idea though, how they’re doing it. I really hope they cut us loose before the end of the month though. I’d like her to start focusing on the positive far before then.

my D auditioned for both BA Int Ens and BFA Acting and did not have a callback in the BFA Acting but was “talked to” about the film program in the BA audition which was first. So she may be out of the running before the race but who knows? I almost liked thinking it was all over March 15 coz then we can move on as well but this is what she really wants so?

My S had a callback the day of his audition. Then he had a phone interview a few days later re: the regular BFA Acting program. Next, he received a message from someone in the office that asked him to email them with a good time to talk to the person who will be in charge of the new film/tv acting program. He emailed a few times, and he hasn’t heard back since then. That was over a week ago. No additional conversation, no acceptance, no rejection… He is going to try to call today, but we don’t even have the name of the actual person he is supposed to be trying to talk to.

acting17, that is very encouraging for your S and certainly a marked difference from our experience. Good to know. Well, let us know if you hear anything further today on the timeframe of the acceptances and rejections.

Does anyone know if they audition BFA Acting and don’t get in, are they considered for other programs? Like BA Acting? Something entirely different? We get loads of mail from Pace, including her scholarship and financial aid statement, but she did not get a callback at her audition, was not “talked to” about film…nothing!

BA Acting happened to friend of my daughters last year who didn’t get the BFA. I remember the letter coming very late in the process. He was surprised. Good luck!

I had Emailed Wayne and he mentioned having the department review my Acceptd audition again and if they were interested in me for the Film program they would get in touch with me. Still waiting LOL!

Here is our experience for what it worth. Walk-in for BFA acting at Unifieds. Got callback, then phone interview, then call for BFA Acting and was accepted. Also prescreened for MT and sang/acted/danced. Have not heard anything about MT though. There have been MT acceptances though, I know that. I hope that may help…

I will not say anything negative…the girl who befriended my D who is currently a BFA acting sophomore told her verbatim " the admissions department for MT, Acting( et al )are trying very hard to make the class of 2017 as diverse as possible, with different strengths and talents". that being said, I believe this accounts for the staggered nature of the acceptances and rejections.
I hope you all hear very soon.
