I've been accepted to Pace, Emerson (MA in publishing), and St. Johns (MA in English), and I'm not sure where to go.

I've always wanted to live in Boston, but the allure of New York, where I know a lot of people already and have some family, is making me lead towards Pace. From what information I've been given, Emerson boasts better academics and is more selective, but Pace is in the middle of Manhattan and they've also offered me a scholarship.

I'm hesitant to abandon the writing portion of Publishing, I have a Creative Writing B.A. that I'd like to be able to use at least a little. Pace worries me slightly in that the degree there seems to concentrate on the business-end of the industry, and not so much editing or writing. It may be this way also at Emerson, but their degree is titled Publishing AND Writing, so this makes me a little less weary.

Of course, I'm also skeptical as to the use of a publishing degree in general, especially in an age that is more and more turning to electronic media as opposed to print. I have also been accepted into St. John's English M.A. program, and this presents an even more confusing dilemma because a big part of me would like to abandon publishing all together and just go with English, but again, what would I do with this degree?

My problem is this: I have a creative writing degree that I've found quite useless for the past year, I want to obtain my Masters, and I want the degree to be marketable but still involve doing something I enjoy. I'm choosing mainly between Emerson and Pace, with St. John's as an alternative because the degree there is so different.

Any advice on any of these schools versus the others would be very helpful!
