Hey guys,

I've recently narrowed down my college choices to NYU and Pace. I have been accepted into both for musical theatre and am having a harder time than I ever though I would deciding...I have always wanted to go to NYU but for some reason was not very excited when I found out I was accepted and can't really understand why. I never really considered Pace but I have visited a lot now and found that I really love the small feel of the program and the amount of musicals they do each year. However, NYU has much nicer facilities and better academic classes, along with a more reputable "name" I guess. Also, the faculty for the new studio is incredible. So, does anyone have any opinions? I'm honestly 50/50 and have to decide soooon. Thanks!

Congratulations! Two great choices. I’m replying to you because my D was accepted to both last year, as well as several other schools, and decided on Pace. She thought she was going to love NYU but was very disappointed with the whole ‘vibe’ there. She fell in love with Pace and still loves it. She feels she is getting excellent training, and tons of performing opportunities. Good luck with your decision!

Wow, congratulations.
I think that you should take the chance of being admitted to NYU. It’s a well-known university and an amazing school. That’s my opinion.

Your words “sound” as if this is a heart vs. head decision. You are weighing the small feel of a program that you really love against facilities, faculty and the name of a program you didn’t feel excited about being accepted to.

Personally, I think you can never go wrong when you listen to your heart. BTW, you don’t mention cost so I am assuming that you are one of the lucky ones and that is not a factor in your decision. Good luck! :)
