Pace

Has anyone auditioned for Acting not received a movement callback but was told that did not matter, I believe the M T have to have a callback to still be considered?

Londream, can you please clarify your question? Are you suggesting that those students not called back for the movement session for Pace are still eligible for artistic admission? That would be most surprising given what my daughter was told at the Unifieds.

They said if you don’t get a callback you are still being considered for the BA in Acting ONLY.

Yes I did acting ,up to the Pace audition I have had great feedback but wow the Pace auditor he was awful no one got a callback for movement but, we were told it didn’t matter we were still considered for Acting .

Thanks, Dreambelle13! I would have assumed that no callback meant no further consideration for the BFA Acting program. You confirmed that fact.

Londream, as Dreambelle13 indicated, you would still be in the running only for the BA in Acting program.

Yes the girl at the check in desk said BFA Acting you could still be considered for even without a callback but, Pace had Walk Ins posted every where which isn’t really fair to all that prescreened

Londream, they told walk ins that they would still have to upload their videos to Acceptd like everyone else.

Seems rather after the fact but they will see what works best .After all the problems Rutgers had last year with on the spot callbacks they cut them this year.

Well Rutgers had on spot callbacks for a callback weekend. That’s not an issue for Pace since they have on spot callbacks for callbacks held the same day.

I’m bumping this because it would be useful if someone from Pace would comment on both the callback and prescreen issues. I realize they must be extremely busy, but clarification would be appropriate.

If there is space for a walk in Pace grants that. However EVERYONE will go through the prescreen. If there isn’t room for a walk in - they can’t see you. The callback system is very fair but it just might hurt sometimes. The program heads have watched all 2,300 applicants in the prescreen process and while some program heads attend the callback while others sit the entier audition you can be sure that if you have applied to Pace you have been seen by the program head at least once often twice or three times. When a a school has this many applicants and less then 10% acceptance rate not everyone will be pleased with every schools process however we must assume their system works for them even if it seems flawed from where we sit.

DPDUforyou—Point of clarification. You are not stating that EVERYONE completed the prescreen before they auditioned on and off campus? Many postscreened. Sorry that’s not a word, though it may become one in time for next year’s audition season. :-)

Post-screening seems a little silly, guys. I thought the point of pre-screens was to narrow the pool to people that had a realistic chance of being accepted. How many did they invite to actual auditions?

Hi everyone,

I have posted regarding all of these topics in many of the other threads - “Pace bfa acting phone interviews” and “Pace MT”, being two. I keep finding new threads and the site is a little hard to navigate, but we’re doing our best during a very busy audition season to address questions and concerns where ever they might come from. Please check out our responses! Thanks for all of the feedback!
