Pace

Anyone gotten any snail mail from Pace ?

Nope. I was told that letters will go out next week.

Nothing here either , I believe receiving a letter is potentially bad news

It is so strange to have a generous merit scholarship and financial aid package from PACE, but no indication of a true acceptance!

Hi all! I think the BFA acting offers have all been informally notified of their acceptance.

Acceptance letter came today, but we had been called back on March 4.

Congrats, TNmama! Looks like you guys are heading up north!

Yeah. No letter AND no call means curtains. Letters are on their way with either waitlist info or rejections, from what I understand. I think they’ve made all the calls.

What about Acting for Screen? Haven’t heard of anyone getting into that…

Well, that was a looooong wait. S received letter today that says accepted to the “BA in Theater Arts - a placeholder for the BFA in Acting for Film, Television, Voice-overs, and Commercials. Contingent upon NY State approving the BFA, we will update your record.” Anyone else receive this? Not sure that’s a risk we’re willing to take, although they did offer him a significant merit scholarship.

Can you explain that? I’m not familiar with Pace’s BFA. Is it going to be new in the fall of 2013? So if it gets approved, than your S will go into that program and if it isn’t he’ll go into the BA?

Hmmmmm - not sure about that. Unless Pace is your S’s top choice and he would be happy with the BA.

They have existing BFAs in Acting and MT. At auditions, they said they were creating a new BFA that specialized in Film and TV. The program has not been approved by NY State yet. So they have offered admission to BA until (if? when?) approved.

correction - Acting for Film, TV, Voiceover and Commercials

Thanx for posting Acting17 and congrats on the opportunity to study acting at Pace but it looks like yours has a lot of options. Good luck with choices!

Thanks, mom2gals. I know you are waiting on this one. Hope it’s good news for you, too!

That is a little unnerving and indefinite for the kids though, hard to wrap your heart around something so indefinite. But they sure have been alluring with merit aid and can’t beat the location.

Idk but I feel like instead of putting the BFA Acting for Screen w/ BA Acting, they should put them with BFA Acting…you know until the Screen major is set in stone.

Agree with both of you wholeheartedly!

FYI my daughter received a call admitting her to BFA acting and then received a letter admitting her into that program or BA acting for film tv etc. it would be her choice if the program gets approved.

just wondering why everything thinks if you didn’t get a phone call that you aren’t being accepted…is that for sure? We were told the letter was mailed last Friday and here it is Wednesday and nothing :frowning: this is torture.
