I’m in state, non ranking school, 1260 SAT score, 3.6 cumulative, solid amount of EC in the government/ political sphere , strong essay/ short responses @Lupescupe
I also want to know what is better between these two options since i’ve seen alot of people capped and Paced. What if you have almost all your basics done? Is Either one worth it?
A big question is what major are you trying for. I believe both PACE and CAP only guarantee a major in COLA. If you are trying for a major outside of COLA and have most of your basics done most people recommend going to a different university and try to transfer in.
I was also PACEd.
I accepted my offer as a safety net because I’m still waiting on two other schools but here are my stats:
1220 SAT
4.3 W / 3.9 uW
In-state
Ranked 93/820 (top 11%)
Really good essay (from what I’ve been told)
Editor in chief of a publication
Lots of ECs
To answer your questions: I called a couple weeks ago about PACE and got a ton of info. The lady I talked to told me only about 100 or so kids get offered PACE. She also told me that financial aid is based on UT but you’re paying for ACC classes plus one UT class (from what I understood I might be wrong). And also I was told the program does fill up quickly and there’s no repercussions if you accept your offer and then later deny it (before May 1st)
Also I heard that PACE is better than CAP because you’re an actual UT student, you join the clubs and get to live on campus etc. Also, if you get PACEd you can opt out for CAP but you can’t do that if you only get CAP. Also, you can transfer into COLA or Moody. And you do get a Texas banner.
I think that’s all the info I gathered but I definitely recommend calling UT if you have questions they really helped me out a lot!
I know two people that got PACE two years ago. One now is COLA student and other one is in Moody for journalism. Both are doing well and lived in West Campus their freshman year. Boys can rush but girls cannot. It’s a really great option plus the classes are easier at ACC from what I’ve been told.
Hello, I got into PACE and was wondering if anyone knows if PACE students can take more than one UT class? ACC Rio Grande does not offer the correct Biology or any Chemistry. I would like to get at least one of these classes knocked out my freshman year.
