Packing: CD cases necessary?

I'm considering (only considering) throwing out all my CD cases this summer when I'm packing for college. I might just keep the books and get some huge zip-up holders (I know one that can hold 100).

Do any of you think this is a good idea? And for those of you planning to keep the cases, why?

Now I have to figure out what to do with these books...

I'm getting the CD "books" they sell. There's no reason to waste space packing cases, IMO. Plus, the books are much more convenient and easier to carry around.

put them on ur computer + ipod. ipod = amazing

I'm also trying to figure out what to do with all my music. Portable mp3 player is part of the plan but I want to bring along my stereo and blast some Radiohead on surround sound or something, too (so sorry, future roomate of mine). Bring all my CD's in a carrying case and leave the cases and booklets at home probably...

well 1 week after OA/CA is parents week too and so you can have ur parents bring up extra luggage. thats what im doing. they are bringing up 2 extra bags each so 4 bags total.
