Just to make sure, this is the “a topic of your own” kind of essay right? I want to use the essay I wrote for Cornell’s prompt- tell us about your intellectual interests, how they have evolved, and how the University can help you acheive your academic goals. Is it a good idea to just talk about how my intellectual ideas have evolved and leave out the part about how the University can help you so it doesn’t seem that I just changed Cornell to Penn in my essay? Or, do you think adcoms at Penn will understand if I recycle my Cornell essay?

This essay is supposed to be creative. It's supposed to be from your "autobiography," so pick a time in your life that you want to write about and write about it. Have fun with this. This is definitely not the prompt to be reusing essays for.

I agree with agentboy. This essay is meant to show the creativity and sense of imagination of the applicant (as stated on the Penn app). I honestly don't think you should reuse your Cornell essay, but that's only my opinion. Unless you think your Cornell essay shows off your creativ self, I would write a new original essay... Good luck! :)

you seriously think you are running out of time? writing a neat essay won't take you more than 2 hours, proofreading included. in this case, considering the uniqueness of the prompt, why don't you write a new one?

with a great essay you're hugely increasing the odds that you'll get in. save a little time now and you might regret it for the rest of your life ah!

If I don't think my essay is amazing (or as amazing as my common app essay), wouldn't it just be a good idea to not write anything for the pg. 217 essay?

Does anyone feel like reading my essay?
