It has come down to Illinois and Michigan. I haven't visited illinois yet mostly because of time and money. Are any of you guys aware of Illinois being able to compensate for students who can't afford to visit (Transportation)?

Hrrrmmm, your name is a bit telling. Why would they want you that bad that they’d want to pay for your visit? Where would you be coming from? What is your desired major? What kind of GPA and/or Standardized test scores do you have that would justify a state school to offer to pay for you to visit the school? Are you an athelete that might benefit Illinois through your outstanding play? You sound a bit full of yourself. If you’ve been admitted congratulations. That’s no small task, but it seems a bit over the top to expect a state university to expend funds hosting your highness, while you cast your jaundiced eye on the university and its worthiness to host your education. Has Michigan offered to host your visit? Kthxbye!

Balthezar, did you not have your coffee yesterday or something? Sheesh! I would agree with the OP on this one that he just asked a fairly simple question.

MI2014, I am not aware of ANY state school paying for visits except for athletes. Maybe a few have special programs, but I never heard of anything like that at UIUC.

Well, actually yesterday was not one of my best days, but I do agree that the question was simple. I felt it was a ■■■■■ post honestly, but if I was mistaken MI2014, I apologize. But after saying that I would suggest that with a handle like MI2014, and a signature location of Michigan '14, you ought to expect a bit of flack when you post on other college sites. It looks like you’ve already made up your mind. And, honestly, since you’re instate Michigan, I’d have to say that to consider Illinois for business, you’d really have to have a good reason. They’ve got a great business school, and while Illinois is tops in accounting, the difference between Illinois and Michigan is negligible, and I’d have to give the edge to Michigan’s Ross overall. In order to know for sure whether Illinois will pay for you to visit, I’d give them a call on Monday after 8:30 and ask. That might just make someone’s day.
