<p>helo ppl..!!</p>

<p>id like to hear from more pakistani students applying to US and canada</p>

<p>im a canadian living in khi pakistan.
im in last yr of Alevels and have applied to many canadian unis, mcgill york uft ...
and id like to know my chances in gettin in mcgill and york, my first 2 choices..</p>

<p>ive got 4As 2b in Olevels
1 A 3 B in AS level
and 4 A in predicted alevels..</p>

<p>lookin fwd to replies..
peace!</p>

<p>hmmm...i am a pakistani student currently a freshman at georgetown university..
last year i applied to u of t, waterloo and mcgill..
let me tell you up front...your chances for mcgill are pretty slim coz all mcgill looks at is grades....4 A's and 1 A' at O and AS levels is not that great...rest of the universities you should get in pretty easily....in my year mcgill rejected many people who had less than 6-7 A's in O levels....york are you applying to schulich?
i am also from karachi...which school do you go to?</p>

<p>oh sad to read that man i was really looking fwd to mcgill..</p>

<p>wht abt being president of student council n very strong ECs will that help??
high school gpa is 3.7
toefl 283
and predicted alevels are all As..</p>

<p>and yes ive applied to schulich...btw u hvae any idea howz atkinson? ive heard they take anyone??
and i study at bayview high school..
wht abtu?</p>

<p>if you dont get into schulich you will get into atkinson...thats what happened to most of my friends....in case you havent noticed mcgill's app is pretty bare...they ask for nothing really incase you apply for a scholarship..i went to kgs</p>

<p>well yeah thats true.. </p>

<p>well lets c wht happens..</p>

<p>btw did u get accepted from the canadian unis ? ure stats?</p>

<p>yeah.i was accepted to all 3 canadian univs. u of t, waterloo and mcgill
8 a's 2 b's o levels
4 A's AS
3 A's and a B in A levels</p>

<p>thats pretty good !!
anyway thx for the input..</p>

<p>ive applied to york(schulich), mcgill, mcmaster, western, uft, waterloo</p>

<p>mcgill n schulich are dicy otherwise inshallah ill get into others..</p>

<p>which one do u think is considered best for accounting career!</p>

<p>hmm...waterloo has really good programs...they have accouting and financil mgmt co-op and maths and accounting dbl degree...you should look at those...you can apply to more than one program at uW..my friend applied to three...name wise mcgilll, u of t and mcgill are the best...though schulich also has a very good rep.</p>

<p>thanks for all the info man..
apprecaite it</p>

<p>Salaam, I am an Alevels student from Lahore...
Applying to U of T, Waterloo
MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale</p>

<p>Engineering candidate...
Got good O levels....predicted A levels are also nice...but my las years transcripts are like teh worst ever in my life.... how imortant will it be like...especially for Canada...
SAT 1 640v 780 m (3rd try)
SAT 2 800, 790, 700
TOEFL 270 :(</p>

<p>looking for as much aid as possible...</p>

<p>barcaholic, how doyou find Georgetown? and where else did you get in?</p>

<p>as far as i know, last yr transcripts are v.impp. BUT since u have v. good SAT scores it should cover up..
Regards</p>

<p>cres, walaikum salaam.
what is your composite SAT score? 1420 is good. dont worry about SAT any more. your transcript is vital, is there any reason why you did badly? if so, ask your guidance counselor to explain your bad perfomarnacew to all colleges. the colleges you have named will be very difficult to get into. since you are aksing for aid, i take it you cant afford US state schools? liberal arts schools are also out if you want to do engineering, though look at lafayette, they have an undergrad engineering degree, also dartmouth. both give aid to international students. friends of mine got 30-35k from each.
for international students, getting into canadian univs is a piece of cake. waterloo is really good. give the euclid maths competition, its held in may, and a good score can boost your chances at UW. toronto is a piece of cake, they tak every person, dont worry.
look at other US univs, the ones you have mentioned are vvvvvv diffuclt to get into. what are your stats? and btw, you are a junior in highschool? i.e will apply for the class of 2010?
i really like gtown, its awesome. i applied to gtown, princeton, iwlliams, swarrthmore, middlebury, lafayette,f and m, rejected by all, save gtown. gtown gives 5 full tuition scholarships to int. students, i got one, so you should def apply. its a FANTASTIC school, and vvvvv prestigous.
take care!</p>

<p>and buggz you are wrong, a good SAT score can NEVER make up for a bad transcript. SAT score is not vital, transcript is</p>

<p>oh okay.. thx for correction !</p>

<p>Salaam, i am a canadian who goes to high school in US (orgininally from pak) i am applying for EE at Mcgill, Waterloo, UTO, McMaster, Western, UBC, and Acadia.. also in USA im applying to UT, Tex A&M, and Ga Tech</p>

<p>My Stats: SAT 1300 (740m 560v) SAT2: Math 2c 710 Writing 540 Chemistry 630</p>

<p>GPA 3.5/4.0 not including this year where it has improved

<p>i really hope i get in UTO, Mcgill or waterloo InshaAllah. I cant realyl goto any schools here in USA because of financial problems. </p>

<p>Good luck to rest of u guys.</p>

<p>hey americanadiankid
good to hear from u</p>

<p>ure stats are pretty decent.... and imo u should get into waterloo, uft easily..</p>

<p>mcgill im a bit unsure coz mcgill has a very strange admission process, they reject ppl with really good results n sometimes accept weird ones..so keep ure fingers crossed..</p>

<p>if u can improve ure SAT score.. u should.. take it to 1400.. which would should improve ure chances of admission in mcgill/schulich(york)</p>

<p>gluck..
laterz</p>

<p>I PMed you, but i dont think GT offers engineering.....
CAnt find any other school that offers aid to intls...and has a good engineering program...if i cant be lwill surely make it after my undergraduate ...it is much easier to get in for a masters degree :D</p>

<p>thanks for the input buggzz, im afraid i am done with the SATs for now yaaar.. </p>

<p>anyways tell bout urself man?</p>
