Is Pangborn still used as a dorm. When I was there this summer it was used as hotel space. Is it male or female?

It is still used as a female dorm.

Thank you for the info

A lot of the dorms are used that way over the summer.

Pangborn was a guys' dorm when I was a student; I think it switched over to be a girls' dorm, along with Howard, sometime in the late '80's or early '90's. I have one classmate who lived in Pangborn, dad to a daughter who now lives in Pangborn 22 years later.

Notre Dame Family Hall, as it is now called (used to be called Alumni Family Hall, but that caused too much confusion for deliveries), is open to alumni and families every summer from June through the end of July. Rooms are cheap--$25 for one, $35 for two. No frills, no A/C, but tons of bicycles you can take out at no charge for two hours at a time, games in the lobby, youth activities and whatnot. It used to always be in Lewis Hall, until they did some exterior upgrades, then decided they could get a lot more money out of Lewish using it for something else. Since then, it has been in Fischer, Pangborn, Walsh, and St. Ed's--they've been moving it every year or so.

We spent a lot of summers at ND Family Hall, wherever it was; at first because we were a young family and it was cheap; then because it became an annual pilgrimage. We haven't been in a few years, but I'm sure we'll go again.

I love to ride my former classmates about how the chicks took over their dorm! :)
