Hey all at CC, sorry for the Caps Lock. I'm in a serious anxiety attack about some info I heard. For the School Forms section, the one where you invite teachers to write your recommendation, I chose that I do not waiver my right to view the materials AT A LATER TIME. I checked back and one of the two teachers I invited already wrote my recommendation with no problem. Today, the other teacher approached me saying he wanted me to waive my right, and until that is choosing not to send out his recommendation. Then, I heard that the recommendations are seen in a lesser light if you chose the DO NOT WAIVE RIGHT option. Is that true? Are my recs not as meaningful now because of my crucial mistake of not waiving my right? I e-mailed the support team wondering if I could change it, but they said since one official already sent his rec, they can't do it. So what now, CC? I'd appreciate anything to help lower my heart rate.

Hmm, since one of them already sent the recommendation, you won’t be able to change it. I guess, you can ask the teacher who hasn’t sent the rec to send in the recommendation via mail–so that you do not have a chance to view the recommendation at a later time. That’s the only thing that I can think of. Also, do not worry about colleges viewing your recs in a lesser light because colleges generally do not care.
