so yea i sent in my rutgers app last night w/o writing an essay because from everyone told me, i dont need to submit one. rutgers is rutgers and they only look at your gpa and sat.

now i'm looking at the website and i see im not eligible for merit scholarships cuz i didnt write an essay?! does that mean im not gonna get any money??

did you do your application on line or mail it in. my dd did hers online and yes it is long but they want you to fill all of it out or they would not ask for info. if mailed it in write the essay and attach to copies that you made of the application before send it in and call and let the admissions office know that somehow it did not make it in the envelope. if you did it online try to edit it if you are not able call and let the admissions office know that you are sending it with a copy of your application that you printed. oh and when you are giving advice and you are not sure please call admissions office they will tell you the truth instead of rumors. Good luck

Yea-- Just call the admissions office and said that you submitted your application without an essay but you want to. I'm sure you can just mail it in or something.

I don't know if it's different this year, but last year I didn't write the essay and still got merit scholarships. Though it may very well be different with the merging of the different colleges and the budget cuts.
