Panicking because I missed online class exam

I'm taking a "history and appreciation of film" online class this semester to get extra credits for transfer (I'm a community college student). However, I missed the online test, which was due today. This entire week I was sick and overwhelmed with two tests and two essays due and the film test completely went over my head.

I know it's not really an excuse but this type of thing never happens to me. I am a good student with a strong GPA at CC, involved in extra curricular activities and everything.

There's only 3 tests in the class and those make up the entirety of points in the class. So one 0 means I automatically fail the class.

I'm about to email the professor and explain him pretty much what I wrote here and ask if he can extend the deadline but I'm scared.

What should I add? What if he doesn't extend the deadline? Failing this class would ruin my chances of transferring to a good university (I'm doing my apps right now) and i don't want that to happen.

Do you think he'll listen and how much of a chance do you think he will not extend the deadline?

PLEASE HELP

I’m not him, so can’t help you there. SORRY!!! :(

Well no thanks to the CC community. No offense but every time I post something here there is little to no response. You guys are useless. Horrible community here.

What do you expect people to say?

It’s your fault you missed the exam. It’s bad news if you can’t make it up. But we’re not your professor and the answer to this could go either way depending on who’s making the decision.

Good luck.
