I was reading through a thread in this forum when I realized that I had gridded in fractions
say: 3/7

as 3 (first column) / (2nd) and 7 (last)

but apparently we aren't supposed to grid in the first....

ALKAJDLKASDLKADJLADJK.

I took the international SAT, so there were a couple of fraction questions (not an undue amount, but like easy stuff with re: radius/diameter. = 1/2.)

Should I cancel my scores? I came out feeling pretty good about math (though writing was meh) and I'm applying as a junior to Ivies so my application needs to be complete.

(I'm applying early because I will literally have no more classes to take and could graduate a year early, but I'm not going to take the risk of graduating early unless I get into my preferred choices. I'd rather wait a year in that situation)

I'm going to be applying REA, so I need 2 SAT 2s by November.

If I cancel, I'd probably retake the SAT June 2nd and SAT2s in October. Do you guys think this is a safe plan?

I really just need to get writing sorted out and maybe review geometry. I'm aiming for a 2300+ BTW.

Please, ANY advice at all will be appreciated a lot.

Thank you all so much :)

call collegeboard first to see if they can do anything for you I guess

which colleges are you looking at? if it’s the ivies, berkeley, ucla, or uva, you should. but if it’s a public state university, you don’t need to cancel, just retake later.

Lololol. Are you stupid? You could do that because it clearly states that in the instructions.

@skweezy.

No, we’re not allowed to do that. I looked through the blue book instruction pages to be sure and their example of 2/3

or even .67 is

1st column blank.

If you’re referring to me making this ■■■■■■■■ mistake then YES, I am stupid :).

@ahovahov, I doubt they’d do anything for just me. I don’t mind all that much though, because frankly, I didn’t prep well enough for writing.

@udubhuskies. Ivies! I think I’ll go with canceling.

Would you guys say May 20th to June 2nd is enough time to adequately prep for really just the writing section and look over geometry?

It doesn’t matter which column you started in. I’m 99% sure. But in your first example you said “3 (first column) / (2nd) and 7 (last)” there were 4 columns, and I think the numbers have to be next to each other.

<a href=“The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board”>The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board;

Man did you scare me I always grid the answer from left to right ;)

It doesn’t matter the rules clearly state

“You may start your answers in any column, space permitting.”

@HSClassof2013, sorry I mean 3rd column.

@DinhNyguen and findavincent THANK YOU SO MUCH. I’m really stupid…

Hey you got my name wrong :-s maybe I should consider changing the account name :-s

Sorry for the typo, DinhNguyen! It’s kind of weird though that on that picture, they don’t show a 2/3 starting from the first column. That and the fact that ‘decimal answers’ has it’s own special title seems suspicious.

Just wondering, do you guys think I’d be able to fully prep for the SATI by June 2nd? Writing is the main source of trouble for me; CR and math could use some practice but don’t worry me as much.

it’s because it takes of 4 spaces. 7 is one space / is another 1 is another and 2 is another…
