I think the deadline for that past…will this mean he won’t be considered for FA? I can’t even believe I missed this. We always do taxes in March.
You might not have missed the deadline— one of our schools’ deadline for 2017 taxes isn’t until 4/15. Go back and double check!
I looked in SSS and it looks like all were in Feb. My daughter’s school isn’t until 4/15, so I just assumed it was the same.
Get on the phone and call them!
Did you upload your 2016 Federal tax information and use it to estimate your 2017 taxes in your PFS BEFORE Feb 1? If so, the school, in theory, can use that information to determine award.
If not you are likely out of luck, as most schools are locked and loaded at this stage of the game.
Yes, all of my 2016 information is there and estimated 2017. I’m hoping they would still be able to offer a package, if they indeed love my son! And then use the 2017 to validate. I will do the taxes TONIGHT!
That makes sense. You should still email or call them. I am surprised that you weren’t contacted. Good luck!
me too. but maybe it’s because he’s not getting in anywhere. Ugh.
Call! But I remember schools were willing to use previous years taxes (for you 2016) and receive 2017 taxes in April - it was a later deadline for taxes than all the other financial forms. They based FA on prior year income and taxes. Also you can bring this up post acceptance as they get many calls with questions regarding FA right after 3/10. If everything else is in, schools should be able to make you a preliminary offer on 3/10 and if they have questions, they will reach out.
Just get it in…And call and leave a voice mail for FA counselor.
