PANICKING!!!! International Certification of Finances

I suppose its better if I posted it here.

I'm an international student applying to colleges, and asking for no financial aid.

I was wondering if any sort of certification of finances, not just the College Board one (International Certification of Finances), such as a bank statement or such, is needed by the Jan 1 application date in my situation? I was under the impression that they would ask for it after your admittance, to begin the process of obtaining a visa.

I am applying to: Cornell, Duke, Dartmouth, UPenn, Northwestern, Washington University at St. Louis, Yale.

I'm asking this because I will in all probability be unable to supply such a certification until around March, for personal reasons, which is incidentally around the time decisions come out.

I can't really call colleges either, since they're on break. Except WUSTL.

Thanks for all the help, it is desperately needed.

that’s when you need it.

Some colleges do need it when you apply. I know that Harvard, John Hopkins, and some LACs do.
I think the colleges you’re applying to don’t need it yet. I’m not sure though, so you should check their websites. Usually there’s some information about it, sometimes under a “Visas requirement” section.

In addition to what Herunar said, some colleges provide their own form that needs to be filled out and signed by the bank/attatched to a bank letter. Each school is different so you may want to check that as well.
